Microsoft’s head of gaming and entertainment in the UK has accused Sony of making up figures which claim it has more than 20 million registered PS3 Network accounts.Stephen McGill said bluntly that he does not believe a word of it and questions what Sony means when it makes the bizarre claim.Sony claimed that the PSN had three million more registered users than Xbox Live, which, according to Microsoft’s latest figures, has more than ’17 million active members’.
Stephen McGill, said that there’s questions over what does Sony’s numbers really mean. While Microsoft talks about having 17 million users, it means that they are active and are engaged in all the forms of entertainment it offers on Xbox 360. McGill said that while it was ok that Sony made all sorts of claims about its network, he didn’t believe a word of it. Not that Microsoft has ever played around with statistics.
